In the interest of public health and to support the fight against the pandemic, today we want to bring particular focus to those of you who are fighting on the front lines: doctors, nurses, EMTs, and other medical staff. A big salute to all the essential workers of the nation who are selflessly putting their lives at risk to service and safeguard our society.
At Oaks Fine Cleaners, we want to do our part by offering FREE cleaning services to these vital medical staff.
Our COVID 19 Dry Cleaning Process
Garments that we clean are steamed between 248F to 302F which is above the 167F that CDC advises to kills the viruses.
Our staff is trained to maintain a safe distance and to follow all safety guidelines issued by the CDC and WHO when handling dry cleaning.
Our other dry cleaning is separated and not mixed with any of the medical staff’s dry cleaning.

COVID-19 Precautions and FAQ
At Oaks Fine Cleaners, we are taking coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. We believe in taking care of our clients and work-family. Below we have addressed some questions and concerns you might have regarding how COVID-19 affects us and you.
COVID-19 Information:
- The virus is transmitted from person to person by exposure to large respiratory drops (by sneezing) and by direct contact
- Wash hands frequently or use hand sanitizer
- When sneezing do not cover your mouth and nose with your hand but sneeze into the crook of your arm
- Maintain social distancing which includes a minimum of 6 feet
Cleaning Garments from the General Public
The CDC advises that the dry cleaning process, which includes cleaning and pressing, is effective on most viruses. As is true with other viruses, laundering in hot water 167° F and with proprietary dry cleaning solutions. The CDC states laundering with detergent alone is an effective method. In accordance with the CDC, WHO, DLI and National Cleaners Association, we are implementing the following protocols:
AT THE COUNTER
- Routinely and periodically throughout the day clean all surfaces that come into human contact OR contact with uncleaned clothing/textiles with a disinfectant wipe
- Wipe down and disinfect the counter after each client transaction
- Wear disposable surgical gloves when handling client’s belongings
- Removal and disposal of gloves after each transaction and disinfecting hands with hand soap or hand sanitizer after removing gloves
ON THE ROUTE
- Routinely and periodically throughout the day clean all surfaces that come into human contact OR contact with uncleaned clothing/textiles with a disinfectant wipe
- Wipe down and disinfect the steering wheel after each client transaction
- Wear disposable surgical gloves when handling client’s belongings
- Removal and disposal of gloves after each transaction and disinfecting hands with hand soap or hand sanitizer after removing gloves
- We are still PROVIDING our Free Pick-Up & Delivery service to help ensure “Social Distancing”
IN THE PLANT
- Not using the same baskets for loading and unloading clean and dirty items and disinfecting these baskets after use
- Making sure the cleaning/washing system is properly charged with soap
- Wiping down the door opening rim prior to unloading the cleaned clothes in the machine
- The use of disposable gloves
- Personnel will wear protective clothing if there is a risk of direct contact with biological agents (for example in the event of splashing). Replace and launder protective clothing in the event of contamination
- Washing is done at high temperature, 167° F, for 25 minutes
OUR EMPLOYEES
- We are making sure all our employees are washing their hands on a frequent and regular basis
- Availability of hand sanitizers throughout the plant and counter area
- Employees are instructed to stay home if they’re feeling unwell in any way
